Audrey R. Krautkramer, 84, Algoma, passed away peacefully at home, Wednesday, December 27, 2017. She was born March 7, 1933 in Algoma to Edward and Arkaileen (Braun) Cesar.
Audrey graduated from the Algoma High School and the Door Kewaunee County Normal Teaching School. She got her Bachelor of Science Degree from University of Oshkosh.
Audrey starting teaching right out of college and taught at one or two room country schools for about nine years. She then taught at St. Mary Catholic Church for one year and ended her teaching career at the Algoma Elementary School with 22 years of teaching. She taught a total of 32 years, retiring in 1990.
Audrey married Sylvester Krautkramer in Dyckesville on December 27, 1954. Sylvester preceded her in death on July 1, 1998
Audrey was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, a volunteer for the Algoma Visitors Center and the Historical Society. She did many interviews with people for the Historical Society.
She is survived by her four children, Blaise Krautkramer, Algoma; Camille (Joseph) Possehl, Fond du Lac; Carol (Charles) Hutter, Algoma; and Joel (Kathy) Krautkramer, Algoma; seven grandchildren, Kathrine Krautkramer (fiance’ Michael Bauer), Elyse (Brett) Kuhn, Tim (Callie) Possehl, Ann Possehl, Toni (Mike) Jorgenson, Andrew (Amy) Krautkramer and Susan (Allen) Salzsieder, 10 great grandchildren, Audrey’s siblings, Rose Marie Nell, Stephanie (Bill) Calmes, John (Joyce) Cesar, Charlotte (Gary) Kirchman, Esther Hopkins and Reuben Cesar, sister-in-law Kay Cesar, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Sylvester, two brothers Lloyd and Michael Cesar and sister-in-law Debbie Cesar.
Family and friends may gather at St. Mary Catholic Church, Wednesday January 3, 2018 from 9 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM with Rev. Peter Stryker officiating. Burial at a later date in the Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a Veterans Organization of your choice in Audrey’s memory.
