It was all Badgers all day long on Saturday, with an impressive 31-0 win against the Minnesota Golden Gophers. The first quarter was quiet until the final seconds when Hornibrook connected with a bootleg to Fumagalli. In the second quarter, Wisconsin drove downfield but was left with only a field goal. With momentum on their side in the next possession, the Badgers scored another touchdown after a long pass to Taylor, a successful run by Groshek and the scoring pass to Penniston, leaving the second half at 17-0.
UW scored quickly in the third quarter with another skillful pass by Hornibrook to Pryor between two defenders in the red zone and the touchdown pass to Davis. At the start of the fourth quarter, Taylor rushes for another touchdown, solidifying his freshman record and a shot at the Heisman trophy. The Badger defense continued to show the mastery of their game, holding Minnesota to just 125 yards. With the final score of 31-0, Wisconsin will keep the Paul Bunyan Axe in Madison for another year.
