Donald (Don) Edward Reinhart, 66, Algoma, passed away Saturday, Nov. 4th, 2017 at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay with his family at his side. He was born October 8, 1951 in Algoma to Adrian (Ed) and Eva (Peterson) Reinhart.
Don attended St. Paul’s Grade School and graduated from Algoma High School in 1969.
His father died when Don was 16 so he helped his mother run the family shoe store. He bought the store in 1972 and ran it until 1983. He was the fourth generation to run the Reinhart Shoe Store which was in business for over 100 years. In 1982 he sold the store to Jeffrey Young and Don started to work in the Algoma Hardwoods. He worked there until 2000.
Don married Ellen Schneider on October 25, 1998 at St. Paul’s Lutheran church, Algoma.
He was an avid Packer fan. He also enjoyed bowling, watching NASCAR, and listening to music.
Don had a great love for his family, especially his grandchildren. He made friends easily and he loved to talk to people. He will be deeply missed by family and friends.
Don is survived by his wife Ellen, Algoma; two children Ann (Shane) Maedke, Casco; Matt Reinhart, Algoma; three grandchildren Jordyn and Justen Maedke and Dane Reinhart; brother Allen (Lana) Reinhart, brothers-in-law Steve Thomas and Dick (Nancy) Schneider, sisters-in-law Jane Schneider and Margaret (Chuck) Kostichka; many nieces, nephew and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Shirley Thomas, nephew Steve Thomas Jr., nieces Stacie Thomas-Kopchinski, Stephanie Thomas and Missy Paschke and in-laws Harold “Harry” and Leona Schneider.
Friends may call from 4 PM – 8 PM, Wednesday, Nov. 8th, 2017 at the SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma and after 9 AM Thursday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Algoma, until the time of services at 11 AM with Rev. John Moll officiating. Prayer service 7:30 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at the Evergreen Cemetery after the services.
