The Egg Harbor Historical Society is looking to restore the original Door County Library Bookmobile. The plan is to have the vehicle touring Door County again by next year and Egg Harbor Historical Society President Myles Dannhausen, Sr. explains how the bookmobile would be utilized.
The bookmobile which was used as far back as the 1950’s through a state program designed to distribute books to more rural areas. After the county took over the program through the 1980’s, it was purchased in 1989 by John Enigl a local historian who in turn sold it to the historical society in 2014, according to Dannhausen.
