The Kewaunee Storm won their first outright conference title in 25 years when it took the second edition of the War on the Shore against rival Algoma Wolves 45-30 on 104.1 WRLU. The game was closely contested in the first half thanks in part to good shooting from behind the arc for the Wolves, led by Mikayla Haack (10 points) and Alli Spitzer (8 points). Thanks to changes to an already stingy defense and strong performances by senior Brooke Geier (17 points) and Sara Dax (14 points), the Storm were able to increase their lead throughout the second half to capture their first conference crown since they shared one with Algoma during their 2013 state championship run. The Storm will host New Holstein and the Wolves will play Weyauwega-Fremont at home next week when the WIAA regionals begin.
The Kewaunee PR Committee was able to collect 975 items during the 6th annual Mitten Toss with all donations going to Warm Hands, Warm Hearts.
