State officials will hold court in Kewaunee County on Monday with various stakeholders and the public to discuss the proposed biogas plant that could be built in the area. Elected leaders from Brown, Door, Kewaunee, Manitowoc, and Calumet counties will learn more about the Request for Proposal process, water quality, and nutrient management from officials from the Department of Natural Resources, Public Service Commission, and the Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection. Kewaunee County Board chairperson Robert Weidner says many questions have been asked since Governor Scott Walker introduced the idea of the biogas plant back in November.
Monday’s meeting will take place at the Kewaunee County Fairgrounds in Luxemburg beginning at 1 p.m. Although the meeting is primarily for county leadership, the public is invited to attend and ask questions after the meeting has concluded.
