The final broadcast of the 2016-2017 Jim Olson Motors Red Zone on 104.1 FM WRLU featured another packed house at the Ford Store. Southern Door Youth Wrestling helped us wrap up the season. Club President Kevin Sezewski and Coach Matt Motquin helped coordinate nearly 40 wrestlers as they each got a chance to be highlighted on the radio.
Packers Corey Linsley and Joe Callahan were our special guests Monday. The players were extra gracious with their time and stories. Each recounted some incredible memories from the season. Linsley said the word “inspiring” best summarizes what Green Bay accomplished this season.
Callahan said, “look what we accomplished with all of the injuries we sustained this season. Imagine what we could do with Sam Shields, Eddie (Lacy), Jared Cook for the entire season and many others.”
The 2016-2017 Red Zone will go down as the best season of the show by far. After five years, the program has evolved in all the right ways so far and there is much more to come. The implementation of a memorabilia and sports cards booth this season was a great addition thanks to Tim’s Sports Cards in New Franken. FaceBook live will be a staple of the show next season as it was last night. This will give people anywhere in the world the opportunity to watch the show anywhere in the world.
The caliber of guests this season was truly second to none. Names like Jared Cook, Jeff Janis, Corey Linsley, Datone Jones, Jake Schum, Geronimo Allison, Kenny Clark, and Dean Lowry made for extra excitement each week. A big thank you goes out to our weekly co-hosts Joe Callahan and Brett Hundley. Also, thank you to Sonny’s Italian Kitchen for feeding our guests each week, and promotional consideration from White Birch Inn, Door County Charters and JJ’s Guide Service.
