The Climate Change Coalition of Door County is challenging residents and businesses to reduce the impact they have on the environment in an initiative set to begin January 1. The Footprint Challenge is designed to help people understand the amount of carbon dioxide they release into the atmosphere due to energy consumption and offers ways to reduce that number. Virge Temme from the CCCDC says the challenge is a great way to promote action to minimize the affect people have on their environment and protect the earth for future generations.
Businesses can sign up by emailing the organization and calculating their current carbon footprint online. From there, businesses can set a goal to achieve in 2017 with tips from the CCCDC available on how to reduce their carbon footprint.
