The kindness of northern Door County hopes to be felt by people half a world away. Recently, the Rotary Club of Door County North and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Baileys Harbor sent 50 electric beds and two dental clinic chairs to Ohio, where they will be transported to medical facilities in Madagascar. The two groups also coordinated with the Northern Door Children’s Center to send books to kids in that country as well. Rotarian Cynthia Crock says it is good to give back to the community whether it is in your own backyard or in a different country.
The beds are expected to be delivered to the people of Madagascar in March.
