Heavy snow and high winds are expected for most of the area today, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a winter storm warning for Door and Kewaunee Counties until midnight Sunday. A total snowfall of eight to twelve inches is expected by the time Winter Storm Bailey starts to ease up this afternoon. Door County Sheriff Steve Delarwelle says crews will continue to monitor area roadways non-stop, but urges motorists to stay home if they do not have to go outside.
Winter will continue to have a tight grip on the area even after the storm passes on Sunday with temperatures not expected to reach the double digits. You can see updated postponements and cancellations online with this story.
