Friday was a busy night in the Packerland Conference for both girls and boys teams.
Sevastopol and Gibraltar Boys both lost in their opening game of the Kohler Tournament. The Pioneers were defeated by the hosting Kohler Bombers 77-38. The Vikings lost to the Salam Stars 86-70. Both of those teams will be in action again today against to-be-determined opponents. Gibraltar will play the later afternoon game beginning at 4:30 pm.
In non-tournament action, the Southern Door Eagles and Sturgeon Bay Clippers both improved to (3-0) in conference play with victories last night. The Eagles downed the Kewaunee Storm 81-52 while the Clippers defeated the Algoma Wolves by a final score of 75-48.
Only two local area girls teams were in action on Friday. Gibraltar’s Girls basketball team defeated Montello by a final score of 63-40 in their opening game of the Kohler Tournament.
In non-tournament action, Sturgeon Bay lost to Kohler 71-39. Andie Rockendorf was the leading scorer for the Clippers with 10.
