Joanne MacMillin, 91, of Sturgeon Bay passed away on December 8, 2016. She was born December 4, 1925, in Sturgeon Bay to Louis and Mabel (Adamson) Seiler. She graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School in 1943. On June 2, 1945, she married Arthur F. MacMillin in Sturgeon Bay, he preceded her in death on March 27, 2005.
Joanne and her husband owned and operated Mac’s Sport Shop on Sturgeon Bay’s Westside for over 50 years. She and her husband were past members of the Peninsula Promenader’s Square Dance Club and for years enjoyed taking ski trips to Northern Michigan with friends. Joanne was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and the St. Ann’s Society. She also enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing bridge. Most recently, she was active in YMCA Senior Programs.
Survivors include two sons, Tom (Pat) MacMillin, Henderson, NV; and Jerrry (Colleen) MacMillin, Sturgeon Bay; four grandchildren, Lisa MacMillin, Aaron (Amy) MacMillin, Christie MacMillin, and Rory (Rachel) Crocker-MacMillin; three great-grandchildren, Layla, Blake, and Jillian MacMillin. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Bill and James Seiler.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday December 27, 2016, at Forbes Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
