After a spotless inaugural season in the Great 8 Conference, the Gibraltar Vikings fell to N.E.W. Lutheran on the road 55-44 yesterday.
The Blazers’ defense held the Vikings offense to just 44 points when, for the rest of the season, they were averaging a conference-high 74.3 points.
Gibraltar QB Nick Kita completed 14 or 31 passes for 354 yards and nailed four touchdowns and one interception to N.E.W. Lutheran senior Luke Lana.
Congratulations to Gibraltar (8-1), who take away an impressive record, setting conference highs all season. N.E.W. Lutheran (9-0) advance to the 8-player Jamboree for their second season face Prairie Farm in Weston Saturday, November 2.
