The Badgers are gaining steam on the backend of their first season under Coach Gary Andersen. Even with an early three-touchdown lead, Wisconsin had a little trouble closing down Illinois in Champaign, IL last night in a 56-32 win.
Wisconsin’s Melvin Gordon rushed for 142 yards and three touchdowns. A big loss for the Badgers defense, though. Linebacker Chris Borland left the game early with an apparent injury. His backup, junior Marcus Trotter, made the best of his moment with nine tackles.
Quarterback Joel Stave threw for 189 yards and two touchdown passes in the win, including a three-yard toss to James White in the third quarter.
The Badgers have this upcoming week off then head to Iowa Saturday, November 2, to face the Hawkeyes (4-3).
