A great start to the cellar dweller series for the Milwaukee Brewers has pushed their lead over the Chicago Cubs to five and a half games. A 7-0 trouncing of the loveable losers at Miller Park Wednesday night came with more bad news for ‘The Crew’ however. All-Star shortstop Jean Segura strained his hamstring and will likely miss some time.
Tyler Thornburg pitched another gem for Milwaukee. His sixth start was also his sixth quality start and marked his third game without allowing an earned run. Thornburg allowed only
two hits, walked two and struck out four in six innings.
Sean Halton hit a first-inning grand slam then Khris Davis added a solo home run field in the fourth inning.
The four game series concludes today.
