The 8-man football experiment for Gibraltar has gone better than expected. The Vikings are now (2-0) after an 80-44 win over Luck. Playing in Schofield offense reigned supreme on Thursday.
An impressive second quarter put the Vikings in the lead for good. Credit 36 consecutive points for aiding Gibraltar’s effort. Quarterback Nick Kita threw six touchdown passes in the high scoring affair. Austin Bauldry and Matt Andersen were on the receiving end of three of those TD passes each. Kyle Keehan added a rushing touchdown.
Believe it or not, there was some defense played too. Gibraltar turned solid
pass coverage into instant offense as a matter of fact. Peter Meyer and Evan
Reinhardt each returned an interception for a touchdown.
