There is a total of two NFL teams that have not yet named their starter for week one of the regular season. Former Green Bay Packers backup Graham Harrell agreed to a one-year contract with ‘Gang Green’ this morning and will have a chance to compete for a roster spot and maybe even an opportunity to start in the bright lights of New York City.
The co-host of the Witt Ford Red Zone in Sturgeon Bay becomes the fifth quarterback on the roster. He will now compete with Mark Sanchez, rookie Geno Smith, Greg McElroy and Matt Simms. I think his odds of becoming a starting quarterback are a little better with New York than they were in Green Bay.
The 28-year-old Harrell has less than two weeks to learn the playbook and get comfortable with his new team.
