Rain Ends Bullfrogs Game In Ninth Inning

Sunday's game between the Bullfrogs and the Willmar Stingers was suspended heading into the ninth inning, with the score knotted up at 8-8. The game will be picked up at that point on Tuesday. A start time has yet to be determined.

As for the game itself, offense dominated throughout. It was the Bullfrogs scoring early, and then a big inning from the Stingers tied it up in the eighth inning.

The Bullfrogs got on the board first in the bottom of the first. Robert Youngdahl came around to score on an error from Mark Flores at first and then Nick Torres doubled to score Bryant Burleson for a 2-0 lead.

Willmar brought one run around to cut the lead in half with an error from Bryant Burleson to score Michael Suchy for a 2-1 lead going in to the bottom of the second.

Green Bay extended its lead in the bottom of the second, scoring four runs to take a 6-1 lead. Cabe Reiten led off the inning with a solo home run, his third of the season. Jimmy Coady drove in two runs with a single, which was followed by another RBI double from Torres.

The scoring was halted until the sixth inning until Ryan Matranga scored on a wild pitch. Later in the inning, the Bullfrogs added another on an RBI single from Bryant Burleson that scored Robert Youngdahl, giving the Bullfrogs a commanding.

Willmar's offense picked up in the seventh and eighth inning. The Stingers scored one in the seventh and then exploded in the eighth, finally stinging Green Bay starter Ben Graff.

Wilmar batted through the order scoring six runs to tie the game at eight. The scoring was highlighted by a bases loaded double from Colton Bottomley that cleared the bases and brought around the final runs of the inning.

After a scoreless bottom of the eighth inning, the officials at Joannes Stadium suspended the game to be resumed Tuesday. Game time is yet to be determined. We will keep you updated as soon as that information is made available.
