Sturgeon Bay Legion bounced back from their Tuesday loss and topped Denmark 9-7 at Memorial Field. The Bays ended their conference season with an (8-4) record and in second place in their division. The Bay’s overall regular season record was (12-8).
The Bays scored seven runs early and then hung on to win. Mitchel Neubauer in his first action of the season pitched 3 and 2/3 innings to pick up the victory on the hill. He fanned six, gave up only three hits and allowed two runs.
David Van Dreese led the Bays with three hits. Riley Schartner, Jason Lindemann, and Joey Fuerst each added two hits in the win. One of Schartner’s hits was a home run.
Sturgeon Bay will host Appleton tomorrow at Memorial Field in a noon doubleheader.
