Egg Harbor stands alone atop the Door County League Baseball standings after a 4-1 win over Kolberg yesterday. Riley Spetz and Matt Ash combined for five hits to propel Egg Harbor to victory. Dave Jilot pitched a gem spanning all nine innings. Egg Harbor ran their record to (6-1) Kolberg left a bunch of runners stranded and saw their record fall to (4-2).
Sister Bay pulled into second place with a 6-1 win over Washington Island. An 11 strikeout performance by Will Hendrickson set the table for the Bays. Sturgeon Bay graduate Stuart Larsen belted a solo home run to ignite Sister Bay’s offense. Their record jumped to (5-2) while the Islanders fell to (4-3).
Maplewood picked up their second win of the season 13-5 over winless Baileys Harbor. Allan Karas had an amazing five hits for the Mets.
West Jacksonport moved to (4-3) with a 10-4 win over Institute. The loss dropped the Cubs to (2-5),
