The Pittsburgh Pirates dealt the Milwaukee Brewers a 10-3 loss in front of a sellout crowd at PNC Park Friday.
Johnny Hellweg made his Major League debut as the Brewers starting pitcher. After a perfect first inning, Hellweg allowed seven runs (five earned) on six hits and two walks in the second inning before getting pulled.
Pittsburgh righty Gerrit Cole didn’t have the greatest start either. Cole drilled Aramis Ramirez with the bases loaded allowing a run to score. Jonathan Lucroy hit Jean Segura in before Juan Francisco got Carlos Gomez across the plate. That was all she wrote in Brewers scoring on the night.
The Crew will have another shot at the Pirates at 6:15 tonight.
