Warm Up Week Before Regionals For High School Baseball

A non-conference exhibition style game between two of the three Packerland Conference baseball champions played out last night at Memorial Field in Sturgeon Bay. The Clippers sunk Gibraltar 4-3 behind a big day at the plate for Casey “The Crusher” Giesseman. His two hits including one solo home run to right center field accounted for three of the runs batted in. Riley Cordier struck out five in six innings. Austin Bauldry homered in the loss for Gibraltar.

The other Packerland Conference champion in boys baseball, Oconto, topped Southern Door 7-2 Monday. Trailing 2-1 through four innings, the Blue Devils opened up their offense in the fifth and sixth innings with three runs in each frame. Mitchel Neubauer had two hits to lead Southern Door.

Marinette breezed past Luxemburg-Casco 10-1 in Bay Conference action.
