Packerland Conference Track & Field Championships



The Algoma girls track and field team won their third straight Packerland Conference title yesterday, while the Kewaunee boys won their first Packerland Conference title in 17 years.

The Algoma girls had a total of nine top-three finishes and six gold medal events to edge Kewaunee by a single point 144 to 143. Kennedy Blahnik (shot put, discus) and Whitney Ebert (1,600; 3,200) both took first place in two events for Algoma. The Wolves saw Rachel Feuerstein (long jump) and Shante Williams (triple jump) win individual gold medals.

The Kewaunee boys won five events, including the 400-, 1,600- and 3,200-meter relays, and totaled 18 top-three finishes to best Southern Door 187.5 to 145. Senior Jon Pilgrim won the 110 hurdles and the 300 hurdles.

Sturgeon Bay finished third followed by Algoma, Gibraltar, Oconto, and Sevastopol on the boys side. The girls saw Sturgeon Bay finish third followed  by Gibraltar, Southern Door, Oconto, and Sevastopol.
