Packerland Conference Softball Results

The game of the night in high school softball Thursday was Algoma at Sturgeon Bay. The Wolves won 3-2 but not without a fight. Taylor Schmidt’s RBI single capped a two-run fourth inning. Algoma added an insurance run in the sixth off an error. Sturgeon Bay’s Emilie Jorns-Frisque led off the seventh inning with a home run to make it 3-2, but that was as far as the comeback would go.

Oconto and Sevastopol split a doubleheader in Institute. Game one went to the Blue Devils 15-2 while game two saw Sevastopol outscore Oconto 12-11. Laken James went 4x4 in the opener and Kailey Trudeau added a grand slam to propel the Blue Devils in game one.

Lucy Bley had a 3x3 effort in game two, Holly LaPlant hit a home run and Olivia LeMieux added a two-run home run for the Pioneers in game two.

Gibraltar put the five-run rule into play against N.E.W. Lutheran 13-1. Megan Swain had two hits including a round-tripper and three RBI’s to lead the Vikings at the plate.
