The Milwaukee Brewers have now won nine games in a row following a late night victory against the Padres in San Diego. Yovani Gallardo notched the win with seven solid innings on the mound in a 6-3 ball game.
After falling behind in the first, Milwaukee batted around in the second inning. They notched six hits that scored five runs in the frame. Yuniesky Betancourt's two-run single gave the Brewers a 3-2 lead, and Jonathan Lucroy's bases-loaded double brought home two more for a 6-2 lead and knocked Padres starter Clayton Richard out of the game after just 1 2/3 innings.
They will next look to match their longest winning streak since 2003 when the Brewers won 10 straight in August of that season.
