Wautier's Amazing Spring Training Recognized By WIAC

As first reported last week by DoorCountyDailyNews.com, Courtney Wautier had an amazing spring training trip to Florida with the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh softball team. The Titans first no-hitter since 2007 was the highlight of Wautier’s (5-1) week that finished with a 1.12 ERA.

Fiancé Cody Renard and parents Jim and Penny Wautier were able to watch all of Courtney’s final spring training games in Florida. To say they were all beaming upon their return was an understatement.

The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Conference must have felt similarly, because they named Courtney the “WIAC Pitcher of the Week.”

Wautier is the lone upper classmen on the pitching staff for UWO this season. She totaled 37 and 1/3 innings last week in Florida. When asked if mom was worried about her arm, elbow or shoulder, Penny quickly said “No, she can handle it!”
