The Packerland Conference had three girls teams dominate this season in high school girls basketball. All three advanced to the sectional tournament and one picked up a win last night in the sectional semi-final against Amherst 60-55 in overtime.
The Oconto Blue Devils led by Laken James had a 14 point lead early but saw it disappear in the third quarter. All-Conference selection Jaelyn Jicha scored 18 points including a major contribution in the fourth quarter and overtime.
James finished with 22 points and the Blue Devils snapped a 33 year drought by appearing in its first sectional final since 1980.
