For the first time in Wisconsin Badgers basketball coach Bo Ryan’s 12 year tenure, UW lost on senior day yesterday. A 69-56 loss to Purdue took Wisconsin out of the Big Ten Conference Championship talks. Indiana would have to lose their two remaining games and Wisconsin would need to win out to claim the title.
The 17th ranked Badgers played a solid first half but could not get any momentum in the second half at the Kohl Center Sunday.
The loss drops Wisconsin to (20-9) overall and (11-5) in the Big Ten. Jared Berggren scored 13 points while Ryan Evans and Sam Dekker added 10 points apiece for the Badgers.
Wisconsin will next play Thursday at No. 9 Michigan State. They conclude their Big 10 schedule Sunday at Penn State.
