The Luxemburg-Casco wrestlers clinched their second consecutive WIAA Division 2 team state championship Saturday in Madison. The top-ranked Spartans beat Ellsworth in the semifinals 35-25 before taking down Mauston 45-21 in the final.
Mason Berceau (126), Brandon Blemke (132), Austin Worachek (145), Jordan Pardowsky (170), Ethan Peters (185), Dan Dorner (195), Luke Destiche (220) and Newton Smerchek (285) won their matches to bring home the team gold in the final. Last weekend, Destiche and Smerchek each won the individual state title in their weight classes.
Yesterday’s team title made Luxemburg-Casco the third team in Wisconsin to win 11 titles overall.
