The Kewaunee girls basketball team is advancing to the WIAA Division 2 sectionals and Algoma will compete in the WIAA Division 3 sectionals after both teams took down their competition yesterday.
Kewaunee breezed by Denmark 60-27, outscoring them in every quarter. Kelsey Stangel led the Storm with 16 points, followed closely by Jill Klieman with 14 and Alex Richard with 12. The girls will take on Wrightstown on Thursday at West De Pere.
Algoma played a strong first half to beat Weyauwega-Fremont 68-44. Taylor Schmidt put up 13 points for the Wolves. Up next, they’ll face Lourdes Academy at Seymour Thursday.
Hilbert ended Gibraltar’s run for sectionals in a 68-57 victory yesterday. The Vikings were outscored 26-13 in the third quarter and couldn’t rebound in the fourth. Makenna Ash put up 18 points and Lauren Kita chipped in with 15 for Gibraltar.
