NEW Lutheran joined Oconto last night as the two teams left representing the Packerland Conference in the WIAA Sectional basketball tournament.
Monday night in Ashwaubenon, NEW poured it on in the fourth quarter outscoring Hilbert 24-13 in the final frame. The 70-58 win over the Wolves launched the Blazers into Thursday’s sectional semifinal round against Sheboygan Lutheran. The semifinal will be played at Two Rivers.
Travis Voigt scored 24 points and Dakota Zinser added 18 in the win. The Blazers are now a perfect (24-0) on the season.
Oconto will play Amherst at DC Everest on Thursday night in a Division 4 sectional semifinal.
