Ryan Braun is batting .833 for his career when it comes to winning the Silver Slugger Award. The Brewers left fielder earned the honor again this year making it five in a row and five for six lifetime. The MLB Network announced the honor last night. The Silver Slugger, presented by Louisville Slugger, goes to the best offensive player at each position in the American and National leagues, based on voting by coaches and managers.
Braun now has the longest active streak in Major League Baseball. Braun's 2012 numbers certainly back up his right to the Silver Slugger. Braun led the National League with 41 home runs, 356 total bases and a .987 OPS. The 28-year-old finished with a .319 batting average including 36 doubles, 112 RBIs and 30 stolen bases.
