Last night on 104.1 FM WRLU the Sturgeon Bay Clippers took the long road trip to the number three seeded Wrightstown Tigers; a team that had never lost on their brand new facility three years and running. Not one single loss at home; a big uphill battle for the Clippers.
In the first quarter Junior Blucher capped a 59-yard touch down drive with a one-yard rush for the score. In the second quarter, Blucher added a second TD to his banner night for the Clippers. Blucher finished with 57 yards rushing and his two TDs.
Lucas Stevenson had 48 yards rushing of his own, and in the fourth quarter put the dagger into Wrightstown with about five minutes left to play. Nate Abrahamson found Stevenson for a 33-yard touch down pass to give the Clippers the win, 21-7.
Abrahamson finished with 104 yards passing going 7-17 in the air.
The Clippers advance to play next week in round 2 of the Division 4 bracket. They will play Little Chute (8-1) in another tough game.
