
The Packerland Conference volleyball tournament is the only thing left on the schedule for the 2012 high school volleyball schedule of area teams. Last night, all eight teams took to the court one last time for a regular best of five game setting.
In Fish Creek, Algoma played spoiler and defeated Gibraltar 25-19, 25-16 and 25-11. McKenzie Mueller had 16 assists and Kennedy Blahnik added 10 kills for Algoma.
In Institute, N.E.W. Lutheran swept Sevastopol 25-22, 25-19 and 25-18. Lucy Bley had eight kills and 10 digs to lead the Pioneers.
In the Town of Gardner, Southern Door was unable to slow Oconto's Sara DePouw and Laken James. The Blue Devils eased past the Eagles 25-8, 25-21 and 25-10. Oconto finished the regular season undefeated at (7-0).
Senior night in Sturgeon Bay was all about the play of Kewaunee on the court. Kelsey Stangel had a great match and hammered home 21 kills to lead Kewaunee to three relatively easy victories 25-14, 25-13 and 25-7.
In the Bay Conference, Hortonville swept Luxemburg-Casco 25-22, 25-20 and 25-15. Marissa Kline handed out 21 assists, Lexi Kinnard had 20 digs and Maggie Liebeck had 13 kills to lead L-C.
