Week Seven High School Football Predictions

After an okay week six of predictions, it is time to put my focus on week seven. Only two games remain in the 2012 regular season. In the large division, Chilton is the only team unbeaten and should win or at least tie for the conference championship. With Sturgeon Bay being the only area team looking to make playoffs, we can start to think post season. However, week seven games are needed to be played and the matchups for the area teams are: Brillion at Sturgeon Bay, Oconto at Southern Door and Kewaunee at Chilton. Algoma will travel to unbeaten Hilbert, Manitowoc Lutheran will go to Sevastopol and Gibraltar will travel to Cedar Grove-Belgium.

Sturgeon Bay comes into this week’s matchup following a loss to Manitowoc Roncalli. The Clippers fell behind early and could not stop the Jets run game. Brillion leads the conference with 1,933 yards rushing and is tied with Wrightstown with 23 touchdowns. If the Clippers want to win they must control the Lions lead rusher Brandon Pribbernow. For Brillion, they must contain the thunder and lightning combination the Clippers have of Junior Blucher and Lucas Stevenson. Brillion has proved that they can play in this conference and deserve a playoff bid. Brillion beats Sturgeon Bay.

In my game of the week, Southern Door hosts Oconto on homecoming. This is a heavily favorable matchup for the Eagles as the Blue Devils are last in the league in points scored and fail to have a balanced offense. Mitchel Neubauer leads the conference in passing yards, but has struggled of late. In order for the Eagles to win, Neubauer must show off his accuracy and strong arm that we saw early in the year. The Eagles beat the Blue Devils.

Kewaunee has a tough matchup this week when they travel to play undefeated Chilton. The Storm got their second victory against Valders in a blowout. This week will be a different contest as Chilton can put up points quickly, but so can Kewaunee. This can easily turn into a high scoring affair and if that does Chilton will have the advantage late in the game. Tigers over the Storm in this matchup.

In Olympian-Packerland Small, Algoma plays unbeaten Hilbert. Hilbert has been winning most of their games single handedly and have a team that can contend for a state title. Algoma must try to stop the Wolves running attack. Hilbert wins over the Wolves in a blowout.

Sevastopol will host the second best team in the small division in Manitowoc Lutheran. The Lancers come in with a run first offense whereas the Pioneers have more of a balanced offense. However, the Lancers run game is pretty impressive and should have no problems running on the Pioneers. Lancers win big.

After an emotional win last week, the Vikings will now play 4-2 Cedar Grove-Belgium. The Broncos have featured a running attack that has put up 20 touchdowns and over 1,500 yards of offense. Gibraltar played well on defense a week ago and must do the same this week. The Broncos have Alex Giles who is already over 1,000 yards rushing and should have no problems running on this Viking defense. Cedar Grove-Belgium wins big.

What a season it has been so far. Good Luck to all Door and Kewaunee County teams in week seven.
