
The match of the night in Packerland Conference volleyball Thursday was Southern Door at N.E.W. Lutheran. The five game match featured point totals for each team over 20 in the first four games. The fifth and deciding game was taken by the Blazers 15-7 thanks to Abby Benz and Sadie Nier. Benz had 22 total digs for N.E.W. while Nier added nine kills and ten assists.
In Oconto, reigning Packerland Conference Player of the Year Sara DePouw smashed 15 kills and tallied 10 digs as the Blue Devils swept Sturgeon Bay 25-14, 25-7 and 25-14.
Kewaunee breezed past Gibraltar at home last night and swept the Vikings 25-16, 25-10 and 25-18. Kelsey Stangel impressed again with 16 kills. Kiley Him dished out 28 assists.
Algoma also accomplished a sweep of their opponents the Sevastopol Pioneers Thursday. McKenzie Mueller finshed with 18 assists and eight digs and Kennedy Blahnik had nine kills in three games 25-15, 25-20 and 25-18. Taylor Schmidt led the Wolves with 12 digs.
