In Olympian Packerland Conference High School Football Friday night, the Sturgeon Bay Clippers gave new head coach Greg Freiherr his first win and game ball of his coaching career. The Clippers used an aggressive defense that stymied the Valder Vikings offense all night and big plays on special teams and offense. Matthew Seiler returned a punt 63 yards in the first quarter to give the Clippers an early 6-0 lead. Seiler scored again with only 27 seconds left in the half on a one yard plunge that gave Sturgeon Bay a comfortable 13-0 lead at halftime. Valders jumped back into the game with an 85 yard kick off return by Nati Lehman to open the third quarter. A 52 yard strike by Nathan Abrahamson to Seiler put the Clippers back in control midway through the third quarter and a four yard run by Lucas Stephenson put the game away early in the fourth quarter. Abrahamson had a stellar game throwing for 251 yards unofficially with a touchdown, while Riley Cordier caught seven passes for 103 yards. Sturgeon Bay (1-0) now travels to Chilton to take on the Tigers next Friday night. The Pregame show will be at 6:30pm with kickoff at 7pm on 104.1FM WRLU.
