
Needing a win to clinch the regular season outright Door County Baseball League Championship, Egg Harbor did just enough to skate past Sister Bay Sunday. Winner of a 4-3 decision, Riley Spetz allowed only four hits. The win put Spetz at (11-0) on the season and the team at (12-1). Justin Hartel provided some instant offense for the Bays with a solo home run.
Kolberg is now tied with Sister Bay at (9-4) after they shut out Washington Island 7-0. Jeff Sperber allowed six hits in his shutout bid. Kolberg was led by Rob and Derek Raye at the plate. Each belted a home run in the win.
West Jacksonport eased past Baileys Harbor 16-5. The Ports had Steve Jilot finish with three hits and four RBI's and Ryan Tanck add three hits and three RBI's. Tanck and Jilot were joined by Mike Stoneman in the home run category in the game as well. The win puts West Jacksonport in a two way tie for fourth place with Washington Island.
Institute also had an easy day at the ball park in a 15-6 win over Maplewood. The Mets' struggles continued as Allan Karas took the loss for the (2-11) Mets. Cody Giesseman accomplished four hits, including two home runs and six RBI's for the Cubs.
