Sevastopol junior Conner McHugh may only be seventeen years old but in the sport of swimming he is just entering his prime. McHugh swam the YMCA Long Course Nationals in Atlanta, Georgia late last week and earned an Olympic Trial qualification along with a number of other major accolades.
McHugh joined me on the Country Music Morning Show on WRLU yesterday to talk about his major success.
Conner Talks About His Success
Conner said he will be taking a two week rest; the only two weeks off all year. However, right after our interview he walked across the parking lot to the YMCA pool to get a few easy laps under his belt.
McHugh has already showed major interest in attending Minnesota, Iowa or USC to continue his swimming career after high school. Swimming a meter pool is extremely important to him as the Olympic events are all meter events, not yards.
