Last week's NFL Alumni Association Fishing Outing will go down as a great start to an annual event that could forever stand in Sturgeon Bay. Thursday's outing was preceded by a banquet Wednesday where Jerry Kramer kind of stole the show.
One of the all-time Packers greats told Lombardi era stories and captivated the crowd with his electric smile. One topic he did not address in front of the crowd was the NFL Hall of Fame. Kramer's daughter is heading a major effort that has 25 current NFL Hall of Famers endorsing Kramer. He talked with DoorCountyDailyNews.com about the endorsement.

Kramer, a five-time NFL All-Pro offensive lineman, played for the Packers for 11 years and helped Green Bay win five NFL titles as well as the first two Super Bowl games. Kramer was selected as one of the 50 greatest players of the NFL’s first 50 years and is the only member of that group not in the Hall of Fame.
He retired after the 1968 season. On her own, Kramer’s daughter Alicia has mounted a grassroots campaign to try and convince the Senior Selection Committee of the Hall of Fame to nominate her father.
