
After eleven weeks of Door County League Baseball, It appears Egg Harbor (10-1) will coast to a regular season championship and three teams will be left to battle for second place. Sister Bay (8-3) has a one game lead over Kolberg (7-4) and two games ahead of Washington Island (6-5). All four of the top teams won over the weekend to add even more distance between the top and bottom of the league.
Sister Bay saw Adam Biwer rack up three RBI's in a 9-3 win over Maplewood yesterday. The Bays kept the Mets bats quiet except two hits logged by Travis Price.
Washington Island doubled up Baileys Harbor 4-2. Troy Jorgenson had another great day by driving in four runs and picked up the save for the Islanders. Brett Anschutz pitched well in the loss. He struck out eight in the loss for the A's.
Kolberg embarrassed West Jacksonport 23-4 Sunday. Jesse Miller hit a grand slam to lead the hit parade. Kolberg had 24 hits as a team. Steve Jilot and Alec Schartner each had two hits for the Ports.
Egg Harbor also lit up the scoreboard with a 23-1 whooping of Institute Friday. Riley Spetz had five hits to aid his own cause as the pitcher of record in the final Friday night Door County League game of the season. All nine Egg Harbor starters recorded hits in the game before the seventh inning.
