Packers Alums Impress Sturgeon Bay Crowd

The Lodge at Leathem Smith hosted a group of approximately 20 former Packers greats last night at the Green Bay NFL Alumni Celebrity Banquet. Players sat with and enjoyed a few cocktails before dinner with fans before an amazing five course spread put on by the Lodge.

During dinner former Packers greats Jerry Kramer (pictured above), Lynn Dickey and Rob Davis got up in front of the near capacity crowd to answer attendees' questions. Kramer told a few great Vince Lombardi stories, Dickey talked about how fortunate he was to play for the Packers organization and Rob Davis spoke on the current draft and how Green Bay goes about selecting a player.

Today players attended a special sponsor breakfast before jumping on fishing boats. The first annual Packers Alumni Fishing Tournament has been the most talked about portion of the two-day event. Players and coaches are excited about the opportunity to fish the waters of Door County.

Today's events are scheduled as follows:

Thursday, July 19, 2012

6:30 a.m.         Participants and alumni attend breakfast in the Lodge lobby and check in for event.

8 a.m.              Fishing tournament begins. Participants will depart from the hotel harbor.

1 p.m.              Fishing tournament ends. Participants and alumni weigh their catches and eat lunch at the lodge.

2 p.m.              Awards reception is held and prizes are given out for all categories.
