Coming into last night's Major League Baseball League All-Star Game Ryan Braun of the Milwaukee Brewers was 0x7 at the plate. He quickly took care of his hitless streak by belting an RBI double to plate the game's first run. The deep fly ball over the right fielder's head scored the game's MVP Melky Cabrera easily from first base.
Pablo Sandoval of the San Francisco Giants would clear the bases and add three more runs with a triple to give the National League a 4-0 lead. One more run would cross the plate for the NL before the first inning ended for Tigers pitcher and American League starter Justin Verlander.
The National League would have an 8-0 lead when Braun got his third at-bat of the game after flying out in the second inning. Braun crushed a ball into the right field corner and slid safely into third base with a triple to finish 2x3 on the night.
His final inning was the fifth and in the bottom half of the frame made a fantastic leaping catch in left field. The Brewers outfielder took extra bags away from the American League batter to end the fifth inning.
The National League won their third straight All-Star Game by the final of 8-0.
