There’s something for every angler in the Great Lakes Classic salmon and trout fishing contest at Algoma July 7. There are divisions for solo anglers as well as two- and three-person teams, and an optional “King of Kings” contest for the heaviest chinook salmon caught that morning.
Solo anglers have up to five hours of fishing time, two-person teams can fish for six hours and three-person teams have up to seven hours on the water if they so choose, but with the red-hot fishing so far this summer, they might not need it. Teams can weigh up to full limits. In addition to cash prizes for the top teams in each class and “King of Kings,” tackle prizes will be awarded to teams with the largest fish in each species. There will also be a mystery weight prize and some random draw prizes.
110 percent of entry fees will be paid back in cash and prizes. For more information or to get an application, email wildtimes@wizunwired.net, or call Kevin at (920) 883-9792.
