An injury to Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp will keep last year's runner up in the NL MVP balloting out of the MLB All-Star Game in Kansas City next week. Still on the disabled list, Kemp's injury means the player that beat him out for MVP a season ago will start in his place.
Ryan Braun has now been sketched into the starting lineup for the National League. It will be Braun's fifth career All-Star start.
The Braves' Chipper Jones has also been added to the All-Star team as a result of the announcement.
