John Axford pitched a scoreless ninth inning to help the Milwaukee Brewers win a thriller against the Arizona Diamondback 2-1.
The Milwaukee Brewers had the lead 1-0 going into the eighth inning when Jason Kubel played the long ball into center to tie the game for the Diamondbacks.
Heading into the ninth inning the game was tied at 1-1. Tied that is until the Diamondbacks throwing errors would cost them the game.
Dimondbacks pitcher Patrick Corbin would walk the lead off batter in the ninth and the Brewers would being in Carlos Gomez to pinch run.
Corey Hart would sacrifice fly to allow Gomez to steal second and a bad throw from catcher Miguel Montero would allow Gomez to take third.
Gerardo Parra would pick up the overthrown ball in the outfield only to overthrow third base himself allowing Gomez to score the winning run for the Brewers.
With the victory the Brewers are now (36-42) on the season and riding a two game win streak.
The Brewers will try to keep the win streak alive Monday night when they take on the Miami Marlins.
First pitch is set for 7:10.
