If it wasn't for an offensive awakening in the eighth inning, the Brewers may have been no-hit by Reds starter Bronson Aroyo. Cincinnati handed Milwaukee a 4-3 loss at Great American Ball Park Tuesday night. The Brewers did not have a hit through seven innings and have now lost four straight.
Arroyo was five outs shy of the Reds' first no-hitter since 1988. He wound up with a no-decision after a wild eighth inning that saw the Brewers rally with three runs. Cincinnati's Drew Stubbs hit John Axford's first pitch for a game winning home run in the bottom the eighth however.
Now at 33-41, the Brewers trail the National League Central-leading Reds by 8 1/2 games.
