Door County League Baseball Results

Egg Harbor created a little separation atop the Door County Baseball League yesterday with an impressive 18-5 win over Washington Island. Riley Spetz earned his sixth win on the mound this season while notching four hits and four RBI's at the plate to aid his own cause. Brian Crook & Eric DeJardine each finished with three hits for the first place Egg Harbor squad.

Baileys Harbor topped Sister Bay 7-6 in 10 innings. Paul Nelson homered in the bottom of the tenth inning to close a two run deficit, and then four straight singles lifted the home team. John Woerfel hit a two run homerun in the top of the tenth for the Bays but it did not prove to be enough Sunday. Brett Anschutz earned the win on the mound.

West Jacksonport rallied past Maplewood 7-5. A four run eighth inning was the turning point for the Ports. The Mets threatened in the ninth inning but left the bases loaded. Woody Schartner earned the win with Alec Schartner notching the save by striking out the final batter.

Kolberg blew out Institute 7-1 behind a sparkling pitching performance by Jeff Sperber. Bob Tenor belted a three run homerun as part of a three hit day. Kyle Volkman pitched nine innings for the Cubs. They were led by Cody Geissman at the plate with two hits.
