
Egg Harbor beat Sister Bay 6-4 yesterday to earn a share of first place in the Door County Baseball League. Eric DeJardine and Jake Junion powered Egg Harbor with home runs. Riley Spetz improved to 5-0 on the mound with a solid outing on the hill. Both teams are (5-1) with Washington Island only a game back at (4-2).
The Islanders crushed Kolberg 22-15 in a game that featured 41 combined hits. Troy Jorgenson continued to make a case for player of the year with five more hits. Jorgenson added eight RBI's to take over the league lead and belted two home runs also tops in the league. Aaron Delorit also homered twice for the Islanders.
Baileys Harbor won a nail biter 4-3 against West Jacksonsport. Brett Anschutz stuck out 13 to help Baileys Harbor win its first game of the season.
An early game on the schedule featured Maplewood sliding past Institute 10-8. John Price had four hits, while Mark Villers and Travis Price each had three hits to lead the Mets to their second win of the season.
