Gunnar Tebon’s Streak Of National Championships Over

Gunnar Tebon will soon be entering his eighth grade school year at TJ Walker Middle School in Sturgeon Bay. The four-time national champion in the ATV MX National Circuit had a summer unlike anyone his age in Door County.

Tebon has won four national championships in the past three seasons. This year, Tebon raced his way to the podium again but finished second in the Super Mini (150 cc) and 90 mod classes.

While the streak of consecutive national championships ended yesterday at Hurricane Mills, TN at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch, the champ still held his head high.

Tebon said after the race, “If I had to lose the Super Mini Class, I am glad I lost it to my good friend Noah Mickelson of Eyota, MN.”

Mickelson appeared with Gunnar Tebon in the DoorCountyDailyNews.com studios each of the last two racing seasons. The two have become close friends despite battling each other every week on the track. The race season began early this spring and ranged from Unidella, New York to Red Bud, Michigan and everywhere in between.
